Day-by-day itinerary
1
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu
Drive north past Mount Kenya, Nanyuki and Isiolo into Samburu (about 5–6 hours). Afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Day 2: Full day in Samburu
Morning and afternoon drives looking for the Special Five (reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, beisa oryx, gerenuk and Somali ostrich), plus elephants and leopard. Optional Samburu village visit.
3
Day 3: Extra day (3-night stays) optional
Explore Buffalo Springs or Shaba, or, if you stay at Saruni Rhino, go rhino tracking on foot with Samburu rangers.
4
Day 4: Return to Nairobi
Early game drive and breakfast, then drive back to Nairobi via the Mount Kenya region.
