The Maasai around Amboseli and the Masai Mara, and the Samburu in the north, still live in family homesteads (manyattas) next to the parks. A village visit takes about an hour and is arranged directly with the community.
You are welcomed with song and the adumu jumping dance, shown inside a traditional house, and see how fire is made by hand. Beadwork made by the women is on sale and the visit fee goes to the village.
