Our story

Every trip is a set of moments worth keeping

That is where our name comes from. A snapshot is the elephant crossing in front of Kilimanjaro, the first sight of the Indian Ocean from the SGR, the sundowner on the dhow. We plan trips around those moments, and then we make sure everything in between runs on time.

Snapshot Tours & Safaris is a Kenyan company, run from Nairobi by people who grew up travelling this country. We started with friends, families and work groups who wanted someone local to plan a coast holiday or a weekend in the parks properly: the right hotel for the budget, the SGR booked, the driver waiting at the station.

Word spread, and so did the trips: Diani, Watamu and Malindi on the coast; the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, Tsavo and Lake Naivasha inland. Today we publish real prices from 74 hotels and lodges, so you can compare before you ever message us, and we film our trips day by day so you can see exactly what you are booking.

We also run corporate retreats and team-building trips through our sister company, Snapshot Team Building.

How we have grown

    Coast holidays and park weekends for friends, families and work groups, planned end to end from Nairobi.
  2. 2022: the coast
    Watamu, Malindi and Diani holidays with SGR tickets and hotel transfers included. Our first Tripadvisor reviews arrive.
  3. 2023: the parks
    Masai Mara safaris, Lake Naivasha and Elementaita stays, and Nairobi National Park game drives. Every review on Tripadvisor is 5 stars.
  4. 2026: open prices
    Festive season packages with published rates from 74 hotels and lodges, and a video for every day of every trip.

Our exquisite stay in Diani

We recently went to Diani, Kenya and we were thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite stay and the impeccable service that Snapshot Tours and Safaris organized for us. It was our first time and we've fallen deep.

Day one we went for snorkeling adventures in the vibrant coral reefs of Diani Beach. It was a real treat. We dined at Ali Barbour's Cave restaurant and we were thoroughly impressed by the exquisite cuisine. The beautiful sunset dhow experience was a highlight of the vacation. Can't wait for my next vacation to book with Snapshot Tours and Safaris because for sure, they deliver!

Best experience on the coast of Kenya: Watamu

Had the best experience in Watamu, Kenya. Snapshot Tours and Safaris helped my dream beach vacation come true. The vacation took 3 days and 2 nights. First and foremost, the accommodation was excellent. Very good service and the food was "finger licking".

What I loved most about Snapshot Tours and Safaris is how they were able to plan for the trip. From the SGR bookings, transfers to and from the hotel and an engaging itinerary. The experience was wonderful, I will never regret choosing Snapshot Tours and Safaris.

Diani beach holiday and Nairobi National Park game drive

We went on holiday to Diani, on the Kenyan coast. It is by far the best beach in Africa and Snapshot Tours ensured we enjoyed it to our fill. Afterwards we headed to Nairobi National Park in the Kenyan capital, the only game park in a capital city in the world. The experience was indescribable. I highly recommend Snapshot Tours.

Fun and breathtaking

We had an amazing experience on the Snapshot Tours and Safaris adventure. The long trails in the grasslands at the base of Mt. Suswa, I would really like to camp there again and recommend the same for all hikes and adventures. Kenya is an amazing place with a unique culture and beautiful places.
