Diani is a 17 km stretch of white sand and turquoise water south of Mombasa, regularly voted one of Africa’s best beaches. The reef keeps the lagoon calm for swimming, and the coastal forest behind the beach is home to colobus monkeys.
From Diani you can sail to Wasini Island and the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park for dolphins and snorkeling, visit Shimba Hills, or learn to kitesurf when the trade winds blow from December.
Fly to Ukunda (Diani) airstrip, or take the SGR to Mombasa and transfer about 1.5–2 hours via the Likoni ferry.
