Day-by-day itinerary
1
Day 1: Nairobi to the Masai Mara
Pick-up in Nairobi and drive through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at the viewpoint, to the Masai Mara. Check in for lunch, then your first afternoon game drive as the cats start to move.

Day 2: Full day in the Masai Mara
A full-day game drive with a picnic lunch by the Mara River, looking for lion prides, cheetah, leopard, elephants and hippos. Optional: sunrise hot-air balloon flight with bush breakfast.

Day 3: Mara game drives & Maasai village
Morning and afternoon game drives in different parts of the reserve. Between drives, visit a Maasai village to see the jumping dance and traditional homes.

Day 4: Back to Nairobi, or fly to Diani
A final early game drive and breakfast, then drive back to Nairobi. On the beach extension, fly to Diani instead for three nights on the sand.
5–7
Day 5–7: Diani Beach (beach extension) optional
Days 5–7 on Diani Beach at Diani Sea Resort (all inclusive) or Swahili Beach (full board). Swim in the reef lagoon, or take the Wasini Island dhow trip for dolphins and snorkeling.

Yes. Prices are per person sharing a double or twin room. Single prices are shown in the second column.
Yes, these are non-resident rates in USD. Kenyan and East African residents, ask us for resident pricing.
The big river crossings happen from about July to October. In December and January the herds are mostly in the Serengeti, but the Mara’s resident lions, cheetahs, elephants and plains game are excellent and there are fewer vehicles.
Scheduled flights connect the Mara airstrips to Diani (Ukunda) via Nairobi Wilson. We book the connection when you add the Diani beach extension.
