Walking Safaris in Kenya

Walking safaris let you slow down and notice tracks, birds and plants you would miss from a vehicle. Near Lake Naivasha there are no big predators on Crescent Island, so you can walk among giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and waterbuck with a guide.

In Hell’s Gate National Park you can walk down into the Ol Njorowa gorge with a local guide, between towering red cliffs and hot springs.

Tips

• Wear closed shoes with good grip for the gorge.
• Carry water, as there is little shade.
• Walks run in the morning before the heat.
